& Other Stories Los Angeles Atelier
This week saw the first collection arrive from the newly opened Los Angeles Atelier of & Other Stories, based on Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood. Joining collections designed in Stockholm and Paris, the pieces will complement the minimalism of the former and the romanticism of the latter.
& Other Stories is no stranger to the Golden State and has previously collaborated on a capsule collection with Los Angeles-based Rodarte. It will open its third store in California later this month.
Time does fly. This year, COS marks a decade of delivering its philosophy of fashion; rooted in quality, conceived with an ethos of modern, timeless, functional and tactile design at its centre. Arriving as a thoroughly new proposition, COS now has over 200 stores worldwide.
The culmination of this anniversary celebration is a capsule collection of ten pieces that nods to classic design techniques and references while remaining undeniably contemporary.
Happy birthday, COS. Here’s to the next ten.

So Collective x Offset 2017
In February, Kildare Village partnered with OFFSET, one of the world’s most inspirational, educational and vocational conferences for the design and creative industries, to highlight the From the Isle campaign, Kildare Village’s commitment to nurturing the extraordinary wealth of talent emerging in Ireland’s creative sector. Our Só Collective concept store forms the fashion heart of From the Isle, and aims to provide a permanent destination for Irish fashion and design at Kildare Village, and to continue to celebrate and provide a tangible platform for Irish makers, designers and creatives to sell their unique products in Ireland.
OFFSET design conference takes place over one weekend in February and sees an incredible line up of design creatives and inspirers. Baluba were on the second stage on Friday 16th February to talk about Só Collective and the From the Isle concept at Kildare Village, and to introduce our first Só Collective pop up shop at OFFSET featuring a selected curation of Irish designers and brands. We were also happy to welcome Sunday Books to the fold, an independent online bookshop based in Dublin stocking thoughtfully chosen books and magazines from world leading publishers.
Throughout the last decade COS has remained true to its philosophy; to offer a high quality collection comprised of wardrobe staples as well as re-invented classics, in keeping with the brand ethos of modern, timeless, functional and tactile design. The first store opened on London’s Regent Street in 2007 and since then COS has grown in presence globally and in turn built a strong relationship with the art and design world. The brand’s seasonal collections have always been influenced by art and design and to share this interest with their customers COS has invested in collaborative projects with established and upcoming artists, designers and institutions and to date have worked on over 30 projects across Europe, Asia and the USA.
In February 2017, Baluba held an intimate dinner in Dublin with COS to celebrate their landmark 10 Year Anniversary.
